Skydive Oz has something for everyone

Lets do that again!Health Considerations

You do not need a doctor's certificate to skydive but you need to be in reasonable health to ensure a fun, safe experience, however, we do reserve the right to refuse a skydive based on age, weight and health. If you do have any major health issues, it is best to give us a call as a doctor’s certificate may be required for some conditions - but don’t worry, almost anyone can skydive! If you have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Size and Weight Limitations

The maximum weight for a tandem skydive or parachute flight is 100kg but in some circumstances, we can take heavier people although we may need to wait for the right weather conditions. Our equipment is top of the range and it will have no problems holding you up. Conditions will apply to anyone over 100kg and we will need details of your age, height and general fitness prior to the skydive. For the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) Course, our maximum weight is 110kg. Conditions will apply to anyone over 95kg. In addition, we may need to wait for the right weather conditions. Please contact us to discuss any concerns or questions you may have.

Clothing

Loose, comfortable clothing is best. When the harness is tightened, tight fitting clothing such as jeans, can be uncomfortable. Less bulky clothing is best and shoes should be of the "runner" or "sand shoe" variety, preferably without a heel. No bulky boots with hooks, please. Dress the same as you would for the weather conditions on the ground. We will provide you with some jump pants to protect your clothing on landing.

Goggles providedGlasses and Contact Lenses

You can jump with either glasses or contact lenses as we will supply special goggles for both.

Alcohol and Drugs

Regulations do not permit skydiving if you have consumed alcohol in the preceding 8 hours. Participants must not be under the influence of any drugs. If you are taking medication that might affect your ability to make a safe skydive, you should not jump unless you have a doctor’s certificate.

Loving It!Which jump should I do?

Completing any skydive is a great achievement and will be the most thrilling thing you will ever do! Just remember that all jumps give you the same freefall and the same parachute ride. The major difference with the AFF jump is that you, and you alone, are responsible for all safety and emergency procedures. The two jumpmasters who accompany you are there to observe your jump and although they are holding onto you during the freefall, cannot fix any problems or do the skydive for you - it will require 150% of your undivided attention. If you pay attention during your AFF course and are happy to take on the responsibility, you will have a great time and enjoy the jump but you must understand the responsibility that you are taking on.

During a tandem jump you will have an instructor with you to look after all procedures at all times while you relax and enjoy the jump. If you are in doubt as to which jump to choose, why not try a tandem jump first to see if you would like to pursue the AFF course. If you return within 3 months, we will offer you a discount on the AFF course. The tandem is a great introduction to skydiving and allows you to experience 40 seconds of freefall and then steer the parachute under the guidance of an instructor.

Skydive with your friends! How long will it take?

When you make a booking you are given a time - this is your arrival time NOT your jump time. We strongly advise that you arrive with no time constraints and allow at least a half day free from your arrival time at the skydiving centre. Most tandem skydives will not take longer than 2 hours from arrival to completion, however, our sport is very dependant on weather conditions and people. On arrival, you will complete some paperwork and pay the balance of the jump cost. A tandem jump involves a 15 minute briefing and gear up prior to boarding the aircraft for the 25 minute ride to 10,000 feet.

What if the weather is bad?

One of the reasons we ask you to keep a half day free from your arrival time, is to allow for the chance of weather conditions delaying your jump on the day. As soon as weather conditions improve, we start jumping again. It is not often that we are unable to complete your jump. If you are unable to complete your jump due to the weather conditions, you can rebook your jump to another day of your choice and you will not lose your deposit. Deposits are valid for 1 year. If you are unable to jump at another time, your deposit is fully refunded.
