Tandem Skydive
Tandem Skydiving is the ultimate way to experience the adventure of free fall with minimum training and responsibility on your part. With only a few things to remember through your skydive, you can sit back and enjoy while your highly qualified instructor guides you through your action packed adventure.
Doing a tandem skydive with Skydive Oz is unique because we come to you! That’s right, we will travel to your home town. We publish a calendar on the web site so you can keep an eye on our timetable. Or if you have 15 people or more, we will travel to you at your preferred date. Keep an eye on our specials page for any deals coming up too.
Bookings are essential in order to offer a high level of customer service. It is a great idea for a bucks or hen’s party, birthday parties or graduation presents!
On arrival at the drop zone, and after completion of the paper work (which includes your APF membership), the tandem skydive involves about 10 minutes training and away you go! Your qualified instructor wears a parachute built especially for two and you wear a harness. We only use the most advanced and up-to-date equipment with all parachutes fitted with computerized back-up opening devices.
The aircraft ride takes around 20 minutes to reach 10,000 feet, at which point you will exit the aircraft, experience freefall for approximately 35–40 seconds, reaching speeds of up to 200kms per hour. Your instructor will open the parachute at 5,000ft and you will have a 5 minute canopy ride, experiencing the spectacular views of your home town.
The jump finishes with you lifting your legs on landing so your instructor can perform the landing for you, right in front of your family and friends. It is an exhilarating feeling, almost impossible to explain. If you have requested a video of your skydive, this will be ready for you and your friends to watch on the big screen the same day.
CAPTURE YOUR ADVENTURE IN LIVING COLOUR
We offer professional video/DVD and/or still digital photographs of your adventure. Videos run for approximately 5 to 8 minutes, a mini-movie of your adventure.
DVD OPTIONS INCLUDE:
- Ground footage - including training, gearing up, practising the climb out and exit at the aircraft
- The airplane ride to exit height
- All the excitement during freefall
- Your parachute flight (only available with tandem instructor filmed handcam video)
- Your landing
All videos and DVDs edited to music. We generally produce the DVD on the day for you and your friends to watch that night. Your still photography package, including up to 40 digital stills, are taken from the video footage and are great for e-mail, screen savers or small prints. They come on a disk so you can take it to the photo shop and choose which ones you would like printed or load them directly onto your computer.
Skydive Oz offer the latest in freefall photography. Your tandem master will have the camera mounted on his hand, so there is no escaping and no hiding. Careful what you say as the canopy opens up, the camera will still be rolling.
One of the greatest parts of this style of video is that it will capture you steering the canopy on your own! But don’t worry your highly qualified tandem master will still get the scenery in the footage.
